Thank you sissorboy, for sharing all these amazing videos with us. Sissorboy.com is my new obession. I am inspired by all those talanted stylist out there and looking foward to learning as much as I can from these videos. To Sherilyn: I am a new stylist and therfore detest the word (newbie!)...I find it derogatory!!! I think you can say (New Stylist) instead. Thank you again sissorboy!

This was such a nice video. John is from the old school as I am. I have been doing clients hair for 26 years. I couldn't agree more with John about "Listening to your Clients" that is so very important. All that John said was true. For young stylist that are starting out, you should see this video, learn from it ahead of time, and try to practice what John it trying to tell you, he's been there, done that! Thank you for such a warm and inspiring video, I really enjoyed it!

Thank you MR steinberg, taking us back to basic roller set and pincurls. One thing that is lacking in this industry is apprenticeship, that is big in Uk. Would like to know more about that programe.

You can communicate well and cut poorly, or communicate poorly and cut well, either way, you fail your client and yourself. You have to listen, like John said. You must communicate well and then execute what you discussed and then show them how to duplicate what you send them out with. It's is so simple to keep clients happy with this formula.
Madrid says
Grant... your work is always exceptional. I'm always excited and ready to try the new styles and techniques you're offering. Keep up the STANDARD. The industry needs you. Thank You.

I really loved this video. It made me think about my listening with my clients. I feel that I do a good job but would love to expand on what to ask the client about. Lets saying I'm changing a client's look and have this great idea. How do I communicate that to a non-hairdresser client?
