Hey, erm....i got a question here....i hav a hairstylist which is currently working in my salon and being much disrespectful to me. Such as going somewhere without letting me know or coming an hour or 2 late without giving excuses....What should i do with him? should i just hored another stylist? SCISSORBOY NOTE: I would sit him down and have a conversation with him. Tell him your concerns and how his behavior is impacting you/the business and give him a chance to tell his side of the story. When listening, give him a chance to speak without being judgemental. If he's not willing to sit down and talk then maybe it's time to look for someone else. Personally, I believe if you screen staff well enough before you hire them you will not have those problems. Maybe even start with a probation period.

Grant, I'm so appreciating the motivational speakers of our industry. Thank you so much! Oh... I just realized my scissors got nicked and need to be sharpened. Let me know when you're in town next. Bless

I love this episode, more hairstylists should view this and take the advice. It is harder to work with someone who is not a team player!!!! I actually left a salon because of this problem and the management not wanting to deal with it. I am now on my own and trying to build a broader clientele base, but it is difficult as I am in a rural area and there are so many salons, do you have any suggestions? (P.S. every client I have is very happy with my work and how they are treated, and some clients I have had for years, so I know I am O.K. there, and your videos are certainly helping to keep me educated.)
